Magazines

The magazines in Battery Benson are semi-independent from the main structure. The wall separating the powder room from the shell room extends to the ceiling, but the other four walls stop short and support a wooden roof. This was intended to prevent condensation and water seepage. A similar system was used at Battery Kinzie.
