Searchlight #11 was one of two searchlights in Kodiak assigned to Anti-Motor Torpedo Boat, or AMTB, duty and was equipped with a 60-inch spread beam projector rather than the typical 60-inch AA model.

The searchlight was directed from a nearby Distant Electric Control station, or DEC, and was stored in a combined power plant and shelter when not in operation.
